    Description

Antique Sterling Silver Lions Sewing Scissors
    by Foster & Bailey * Circa 1890-1900
These antique sterling silver handled scissors have rampant lions on the shanks and scrolls around the bows. They are marked "Sterling" and have the maker's mark for Foster & Bailey of Providence, RI. The blades have their mark and also the one for J. A. Henckels of Solingen, Germany. American silver manufacturers in this era bought their blades from Germany.
There are dents along the top edges of the bows but none at all on the faces of the handles.
    T
hey measure 5 1/4" long. The steel blades have intact points and they cut very well.
